The Separation celebrates Halloween.

Well a new day is on the horizon,
And in my lifetime I have just witnessed the first African American president get elected. Unreal, and still hasn’t set in.  And with that we can now continue with our lives again, ha. The Separation have just announced their west coast tour with Acts Of Sedition, dates have been posted in out Tours section. And Time For Change mid west tour tour in the mist in the beginning of the year. More info to be announced.Also a lot of new distributed titles are in stock as well as more restocks on titles soon to come. Good evening all,
Well Time for Change went up to Northern California to with The Separation at the first annual Radding Fest. It was a blast to say the least and I, in a usual fashion traded out some stuff with the fine folks of Blood Town Records. Also too I have been getting a lot of new inventory in the mail so please check out the link here.

Also a lot of titles have sold out in the estore, restocks will be up shortly. Also the Time For Change “Wasting Away” Gatefold 7″ Ep is very near out of print. So if you have not picked that up I suggest you do so.

Well seeing how we are still a fairly small independent label and our feet are still in the mist of “getting wet”. I can not help to feel a little excited to see our releases available on other online sites from our distributors. Above are some screen shots of the new Restrained / The Separation split Lp’s being featured on the front page of these distribution’s web sites. Now most labels would look at this and wouldn’t bash a eye at it. But this is a significant benchmark I like to think as far getting our bands out there and exposed to a public that might not know we even exsist! All though we are still in the throws of mass media and capitalist fronted labels controlling even the independent music industry, I have to say with the growth of Ecommerse and new markets via online. It has definetly cracked a small ray of light on us. So with the support of our small following and good intentions I can see a future for us and the niche we are carving out. So thanks to the conscience consumer!

Also summer was a big time for all of our bands and touring etc. So as we all wind down to take a breather, there are few but awesome shows lined up in our Tours section.

As some of you may not know, running a hardcore D.I.Y label does not pay the bills. So I am forced to continue my feable day job until I pull off a major score or I have a rich family member knocked off. So while I am “working” I try my best to parallel my label work so I don’t waste too much time. While usual business is slow (due to G.W effing up the economy) I find myself lurking the search engines to see how much we have reach with our message and music we are creating over here, I have found some blogs, sites and other misc pages that mentioned or included info about us and the releases we have compiled, Check them out.

Today is a great sunny day for going outside and doing something exciting. I myself am going to Six Flags with a couple of friends. Me and Krystle needed to have some quality play time after packaging all those preorders for the last day and a half. So almost all of you should be getting your in the mail at the end of this week hopefully. And for those of you who haven’t ordered the record yet. I suggest doing so if you were thinking about getting one, the bands have been on the road for about three days now and are selling them like hotcakes! Also there are quite a bit of new distributed titles in the estore i stocked up on from a couple of touring bands that came through the Pharoah’s Den a couple of weeks ago. Check those titles out. Finally the long awaited split of California’s most outspoken, dark, pissed off political hardcore outfits of today. Engineered and Mastered at Earth Capital Studios in Hollywood this record displays both bands in the most truthful, heaviest and clearest light to date. This record will include a full printed recycled paper zine in place of a insert with illustrations and other writings along side the lyrics and side notes, with an original concept and art by Andrew Gomez IV, this hand crafted packaging comes in a silkscreen recycled cardboard jacket, courtesy of Hellfish Press. That’s right folks,
As almost always attached with an update there are new distro titles worth checking out. I went to Arizona a few weekends ago to catch Where Eagles Dare reunion benefit show. It was an awesome experience to revisit a nostalgic feeling of when i first got into hardcore and they were one of the first bands i got to book for here in Cali. And of course my buddies in Seven Generations killed it that night as well. As you can see in the picture above i was pleased with their One King Down cover of “More Hate Than Fear”.

And of course as we all know summer is approaching quite rapidly and our bands are gearing up for their tours in these upcoming months. Please check the “events” section of our site for more details and shows near you. Our newest addition the label’s roster The Separation is getting ready to take on the mid west with our very own Restrained. Time For Change is also getting off their bottoms and are embarking on a 19 day southern tour with Salina’s own No Truce. All these dates are posted as of now on our events page. The Separation and Restrained will have their debut split 12″ with them on the road that is soon to be released in late July. Please pick that up from them when they come through your town. It will not disappoint.

After a couple months of working out the details Me and my partners in crime (Dead Jon and Nate) have started our own booking company under the name “SOS Booking”. We derived the name from the locally known SOS Project which was a complete D.I.Y venue that was ran by Nate and Jon out of the YMCA they worked at. So in celebration of how well and how long it lasted for what it was, we decided use the name as a beacon of hope for legit riverside hardcore shows to come. Hey there,
Not a big update but a important one at that. Ther are new show dates added from Restrained and Time For Change, as well as “unconfirmed” show dates will be added hopfully by the end of this week.

The Separation will be heading into the studio (Earth Capital) to record for their debut split 12″ with Restrained. More updates about that will be posted soon enough.
